April 25, 2026 — Celebrate Trails Day was a rousing success! Perfect weather, great people, and a gym full of trail enthusiasm at the Miami County YMCA Kids Fair. Our team was on hand to connect with families and share the excitement of the Nickel Plate Trail.

Our volunteers set up at the Miami County YMCA Kids Fair, welcoming families to learn about the Nickel Plate Trail and its connection to the Great American Rail-Trail. Surveys, trail maps, and plenty of conversation made for a busy and rewarding morning.

The little ones were a highlight — paper engineer hats, stickers, and lollipops had kids lining up at the Nickel Plate Trail table. Getting the next generation excited about trails is what it’s all about!

The Nickel Plate Trail banner — train, bike, dog walker and all — was a crowd-pleaser. Visitors young and old stopped to ask about the trail, pick up materials, and share their own trail stories.
